In addition to the Canadian Art at Nordstrom Vancouver mentioned in an earlier Blog, here's a stylish way to indicate where  the washrooms are at Nordstrom.  The work is by Tim Yankosky from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I like that the figures "Dick and Jane" are placed side by side and made with vintage rulers. It is left to the customer to decide how they measure up. 

Blank Boy Canvas is completed. The final touch is the friendship bracelet, with beads that spell "I Love You" spaced with random colours and shapes of beads on a clear elastic cord. 

Grandmother's Flower Garden motif on the jeans from the Canadian historical quilt pattern by the same name. 

Each flower required seven colour changes. 

Tumbling Blocks or Baby Blocks on the front of the tee shirt, also the names of quilt patterns. 

Airplane quilt pattern that also required six colour changes for the six pieces in the pattern. 

Child-size friendship bracelet. Blank Boy Canvas' wrist size is about six inches. 

The day after my Convocation at UBC Vancouver, I stopped into Nordstrom on a walk towards Gastown. 

I wanted to see the store because we don't have one in Toronto yet. The store is beautiful, but I was delighted to discover original Canadian art works included in the collection that was hung throughout the store. Here are a few of the pieces.

The shoes have been painted with Golden's Micaceous Iron Oxide paint to give them a subtle sparkle. Just one more final touch and Blank Boy Canvas will be complete .

The tape removed from the back of the tee shirt reveals the finished details. The jeans need a bit more work and the shoes need to be painted. Blank Boy Canvas is almost done.
